Join the RTSA as Torben Fink-Jensen, Customer Director for Alstom, provides insights into some pioneering rail industry innovations including Regenerating Substations, Automated Track Laying Machines, Hydrogen Trains and Electric Buses.
Torben Fink-Jensen leads Alstom’s business activities in Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania, representing four business units: Rolling Stock, Signalling, Services and Infrastructure.
Graduating from Otago University in New Zealand with degrees in Law and Finance Torben has had a diverse career in business strategy and infrastructure. In 2004, Torben joined General Electric (GE) and in 2008 Torben led the reestablishment of GE’s local signalling business. In 2010, Torben took on responsibility for the East Coast of Australia and NZ.
This presentation offers insights into some pioneering rail industry innovations including:
- Regenerating Substations – Alstom’s HESOP constant voltage substation, which regenerates excess power direct to the grid
- Automated Track Laying Machines – Alstom’s APPITRACK solution which is currently being used around the world
- Hydrogen Trains – Alstom’s Coradia iLint, the world’s first foray into using hydrogen as a fuel source for regional trains, and
- Electric Buses – APTIS, Alstom’s offering in the eBus space, operating currently in Paris
