RTSA Rail Scholarship Award 2017

THE RECIPIENT OF THE 2017 RTSA RAIL SCHOLARSHIP IS MR. GORDON BAULCH.

 

Gordon has a Bachelor of Engineering Science in Civil Engineering and has worked for Metro Trains Melbourne for 4 ½ years, initially in the Graduate Program where he managed a project to delivery West Footscray station to an early completion and also a project to increase morning-peak trainset availability above the set target.

More recently, he has been working as Delivery Manager, Extended Week-Night Occupations which role he has filled for 30 months. During this time this complex project has recorded a zero Lost Time Injury Frequency rate, while increasing staff engagement, exceeding completion rate targets and improving train reliability as the project progressed.

Gordon was awarded ARA Young Professional of the Year for 2017, and has also received Best Safety Idea at an MTM Safety Symposium and entry to the MTR Global Awards in Hong Kong.

Gordon has aspirations to manage large, Tier 1 contracts and to further his skills in readiness for this he is planning to complete a Master of Commercial Law at the University of Melbourne Law School.
