DR. MARTIN MURRAY IS THE RECIPIENT OF THE RTSA INDIVIDUAL AWARD FOR 2008 IN RECOGNITION OF HIS SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION OVER A PERIOD OF MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS TOWARDS THE EDUCATION AND TRAINING OF RAIL INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEERS THROUGH HIS WORK AT THE JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY IN TOWNSVILLE, THE UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL QUEENSLAND IN ROCKHAMPTON AND THE QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY IN BRISBANE.

 

Amongst Dr. Murray’s principal achievements have been the development of courses in Railway Business and Engineering and Railway Management, Operation and Safety and, more recently, the establishment of the Master of Engineering (Railway Infrastructure) programme at the QUT. Dr. Murray has written many specialist publications including a joint authored book published by Engineers Australia. He is a founding member of the Queensland Chapter of the RTSA and he holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree and a PhD both from the University of Melbourne.
