Event: The Effectiveness of Rail Web Dampers and How They are Selected and Implemented

August 11, 2021 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm AEST

Rail dampers were developed in the 1990s as a way of reducing noise from railways. They work by attaching to the existing rail directly between fasteners, and by reducing vibration in the rails the amount of noise produced is reduced. However, rail dampers are also able to improve long-term rail conditions and reduce costs of maintenance over the asset lifecycle.
