Win Summer Vacation Work Opportunities
With large rail projects on the horizon in every major city, demand for engineers in the railway industry has never been stronger. Rail engineering companies are actively looking now to recruit and develop young engineers to help keep Australia’s people and freight moving.
What is it?
A flagship rail engineering competition hosted by the VIC/TAS chapter of RTSA for university engineering students. Teams will be competing in a fictitious railway themed scenario by tendering for the project.
The competition will take the format of a mock Request for Tender. Proposal submissions will be limited to twelve pages, and aim to demonstrate proposed methodology, experience, innovation and schedule.

Who should apply?
Students who have not yet worked as engineers, and are in their 3rd and 4th year of their first engineering degree in any field of engineering applicable to rail companies (from civil, mechanical & aerospace, electrical & computer systems departments) are eligible to compete.
What is the reward?
Two winning teams will win an interview for a summer vacation work with one of the sponsoring rail expertise companies including consultants, rail operators and government departments.
Students must register their teams of FOUR members by Friday 9th August 2019. Please register by sending an email to email@example.com with your team name, each member’s name and one contact email address.
Invites to a mandatory tender briefing will be sent to each the registered teams nominated email address at which further information will be given.
