SUMMARY:QLD Chapter Event - Student Hackathon
DESCRIPTION:Overview\nThe RTSA Queensland Chapter is holding a Railway Hackathon this October to gather and collaborate the creative minds in the railway industry with emerging leaders. This hackathon will tackle a specific transport theme that has been developed through consultation with Queensland Rail (QR) and Transport of Main Roads (TMR). Students will be grouped with industry professionals and be tasked to collaborate and “hack” at the theme. A short presentation on the “solution” will be completed on the last night with the winning team receiving prizes. \nThis hackathon will be held over three days over a three-week period (6th to 20th October) at three different engineering offices. This will be an opportunity for you to visit and see what an engineering office looks like (you might be potentially visiting your future office). \nClick here to register your interest in competing in the Hackathon. DESCRIPTION:The ARA’s New Zealand Rail conference will take place at the Hilton Auckland on the 10th – 11th October 2022. \nThe economic value of rail to New Zealand was recently calculated to be approximately $1.47b to $1.54b per annum. Building on the Government’s commitment to rail\, the ARA’s New Zealand Rail 2021 will drive growth by focusing on the ‘how to’ by bringing together key industry and government stakeholders\, customers\, researchers and suppliers to network and exchange best practice on the innovation\, collaboration\, technical expertise and investment needed to advance these planning priorities and future opportunities for rail in New Zealand. \nThe ARA’s New Zealand Rail conference builds on the great energy and enthusiasm of the record attendance of recent conferences which provided updates\, outcomes and ambitious plans for the future of rail in New Zealand.
