SUMMARY:Qld Chapter Event: HS2: Managing a Design Team of 2000 - Opportunities and Challenges
DESCRIPTION:Join the RTSA and the Institution of Civil Engineers – Queensland Local Association\, for an evening presentation on the UK’s High Speed 2 (HS2) project. \nHS2 is Europe’s largest infrastructure project. Over the coming years\, a new high-speed line will be designed and built from London to the North-West of England\, with HS2 trains then linking through to the biggest cities in Scotland. The scale of the undertaking means that upward of 2000 people are involved in the project day to day\, presenting a unique opportunity\, as well as a few challenges\, to deliver a truly once in a generation transformational outcome. \nThis presentation will provide an overview of: \n\nThe High Speed 2 project generally\, its purpose and desired outcomes\nThe scale and composition of the team engaged to design and deliver the project\nThe opportunities and challenges\n\nEvent Program: \n\n5:30PM Registration\, networking & catering\n6:00PM Presentation & Q&A session\n7:00PM Networking & beverage service\n8:00PM Event Conclusion\n\nSpeaker: \nJol Bates\, Global Transport Sector Lead\, Mott MacDonald
