DESCRIPTION:Call for abstracts\nIn 2023\, the Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA) will be hosting its biennial Conference on Railway Excellence (CORE)\, the premier technical conference in Australasia’s rail industry calendar.\nThe conference theme\, Celebrating 25 Years in Motion\, highlights technological and other industry developments which are increasing and enhancing the effectiveness of rail in supporting economic development and wellbeing around the world. The recent announcements by the Victorian Government of a $2Billion plan to deliver 100 new trams and the Suburban Rail Loop program are just two examples of the importance and growth of rail over the past 25 years.\nThe conference technical committee invites you to submit abstracts of potential papers for consideration as an oral and visual presentation for inclusion in the Conference Program. He is currently an advisor to the Tasmanian Government and in 2022 became the inaugural Chair of the Transport Australia Society\, Tasmanian branch. \nMelissa Jovic\, FIEAust CPEng EngExec NER APEC Engineer IntPE(Aus) \nChartered Assessor\, Engineers Australia \nMelissa is an experienced Non-Executive Director\, Chair and Committee member with over 20 years experience across the public\, commercial and not-for-profit sectors\, supported by an extensive professional career as an Engineer spanning 40 years. Melissa’s experience includes management of large transport projects in multidisciplinary programs\, successfully leading and delivering business cases\, including undergoing independent assurance; working collaboratively across States and Commonwealth governments on high-speed\, heavy haul and light rail systems across Australia\, New Zealand and Europe. \nScott Martin \nPolicy Advisor\, Australian Airports Association \nScott is a public policy\, transport planning and research professional with significant experience and track record of achievement in policy and project development\, implementation\, management and evaluation.
