DESCRIPTION:The presentation will cover the need for an alternative fuel to replace diesel in trains\, the case for hydrogen\, the difficulties in using hydrogen\, current prototypes and trials of trains using hydrogen and the presenter’s prognosis for the future of hydrogen in trains. \nSpeaker: Frank Szanto\, Design Authority – PMS Engineering\, Rail & Transit Systems Downer \nFrank is a Mechanical Engineer\, and has worked in rolling stock design\, manufacturing and maintenance for 35 years\, doing a little advocacy for the Australian industry on the side. He has a particular interest in modelling train performance to optimise energy efficiency.
