SUMMARY:EA Event (Webinar) - Chief Engineers Panel – Roles\, Responsibilities and Challenges for Chief Engineers in an Asset Intensive Organisation
DESCRIPTION:What are the Roles\, Responsibilities and Challenges for the Chief Engineers and their team? \nEngineers play a vital role in the Australian community by influencing and improving everyday life. Millions of people entrust their health\, personal safety\, security and day-to-day needs to the products and services these engineers are responsible to develop\, maintain and sustain. It is a role of great responsibility\, accountability and moral obligation\, and one we as Engineers need to support. The role is especially crucial for Asset Intensive Organisations and Organisations operating & maintaining Critical Infrastructure. \nAs more and more of these organisations realise the importance and the demand for engineering governance\, there are more organisations establishing the Chief Engineer role. \nSpeakers:\nGreg Williams | Director Central Engineering & Asset Management & Chief Engineer | Yarra Trams \n \nGreg is a risk and asset management professional with more than 35 years’ experience in the management of complex physical assets in the defence\, telecommunications\, rail\, facilities and energy infrastructure industries. Greg is currently the Director Central Engineering & Asset Management and Chief Engineer of Yarra Trams. \nPhil Ellingworth | Chief Engineer – Metro Trains Melbourne \n \nPhil was appointed to the role of Metro Trains Melbourne’s (MTM’s) Chief Engineer in November 2015 with accountability for assuring all technical aspects of MTM’s operations in accordance with its accreditation under rail safety national law. Phil was previously Public Transport Victoria’s (PTV’s) Principal Advisor for the deployment of High Capacity Signalling based on the application of CBTC in Victoria’s brownfield Metropolitan Rail Network. Prior to this he spent 10 years as Managing Director for Invensys Rail – Asia Pacific\, part of the top 3 global railway signalling systems providers responsible for Australasia and the Asia Pacific region. \nQualified as an EngExec\, Chartered Engineer and Professional Signal Engineer by background\, Phil has practical hands on experience in delivering complex engineered solutions into multi–disciplinary rail infrastructure environments together with extensive experience and knowledge of contemporary and appropriate capacity enhancing technologies for mainline\, heavy haul and metro rail environments across England\, Australia and the Asia Pacific Region. \nMC: Jane MacMaster FIEAust CPEng EngExec | Chief Engineer | Engineers Australia \n \nJane was appointed as EA’s Chief Engineer in July 2020. Jane has a wealth of engineering experience gained in Australia and internationally\, including senior systems and design engineer roles for BAE Systems Australia\, for various aerospace and defence programs including a supersonic ship self-defence system project for NATO. \n  \n(Note: This is an EA webinar event\, costs may be applicable) \nClick on the link below to register
