SUMMARY:WA Event: The real value of rail safety
DESCRIPTION:This presentation will provide a timely reminder as to why the physical and mental safety of themselves and those around them should be a top priority\, that safety has a real value and that engineers must consider safety as their highest priority. The speakers will share their own experiences that have led to their advocacy and provision of safety. The rail industry is under pressure to build increasingly complex and challenging projects under significant resource constraints. In this environment\, the temptation to cut corners in the interest of “getting the job done” can be great. \nSpeakers: \nBen Broadbridge\, Founder of Beyond All Bounds and Mental Health First Aid Master Instructor \nBen is a speaker\, master facilitator and advocate for social change in the area of mental health and wellbeing. Through engaging storytelling and relatable\, humanist approach to his delivery\, Ben aims to leave people with memorable interactions that inspire and inform. Using a blend of compassion\, realness and evidence-based techniques\, Ben’s focus is helping people better understand and support those in their lives that may be struggling. \nShane Haley\, Linesman\, Elite Overhead Wiring Solutions \nShane has 16 years experience in OLE working for various organisations in Western Australia. An incident at Nowergup yard when working near live equipment caused him to suffer an electrical shock\, and led to him spending 10 days in hospital with significant burns to his body. \nTo register and for further details click on the link below
