DESCRIPTION:The RTSA WA Chapter is delighted to invite all interested members to join us on the first site visit of 2026. \nOpened to the Public in 2025\, the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal (LXR) Project is Perth’s first major elevated rail project. Over a length of approximately 7km\, the project replaced 5 stations\, removed 6 level crossings and created 6 hectares of landscaped public space\, all within a fixed corridor and timeframe. \nPlease join us for a morning of insights into the challenges and constraints that had to be overcome\, from members of the team that made the project happen. \nDetails\n📆  Saturday 28th February 2026 \n⏰  09:00am – 12:00pm \n🌏  Start location: Beckenham station lobby (Participants are encouraged to take Public Transport to site\, as parking is limited). \n👷‍♀️  PPE: orange vest and appropriate shoes recommended. \n🎫  Register via ticket link below

DESCRIPTION:Join the RTSA WA Chapter for a site tour of the New Midland Station! \n📅 Saturday 10th October from 10:00am to 12:00pm\n🌏  2 Railway Parade\, Midland WA 6056\nAttendees are to meet at the Northern station entrance at 10:00 for introductions and commencement of the tour\n👷‍♀️  BYO PPE orange vest and appropriate shoes recommended\n🎟️  Registration Link below \nSite Tour Overview\nOpening in February 2026\, the New Midland Station Project delivered a new railway station with 2 urban platforms\, 1 regional platform\, a 12 bay bus station and a 800 bay multi storey car park. \nSitting at the interface between two railway networks and tying into a new depot to the east in Bellevue\, the project improved railway connections to the Midland town centre and public hospital. \nCome and listen to project team members discuss the highlights and challenges in delivering this important piece of infrastructure in the heart of a town shaped for over a century by the railway industry.
