SUMMARY:Joint RTSA and IRSE meeting
DESCRIPTION:  \n \n \nJoin us for a joint event hosted by the Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) and the RTSA. \nGet ready for two fantastic presentations from the IRSE and RTSA Victorian and Tasmanian chapter that you won’t want to miss. \nThe presentations kick off at 4:30 and after that\, we invite you to mingle and unwind with fellow attendees at the Imperial Hotel just across the road. \nDon’t miss this opportunity to connect\, learn\, and have a great time. \n  \nPresentation 1 – IRSE – Supervisors in axle counting train detection\, self healing tracks and advanced remote control functionality \nPresented by Jed Sharman. \nJed Sharman and Maxwell Smyth are engineers from Frauscher Sensor Technology\, who’ve worked on projects spanning across the entire Australia and New Zealand railway industry\, with a combined seven years of experience supporting the industry through trainings\, technical consultations\, onsite support\, and equipment configuration. \nThey are committed to keeping your trains running safely on the track\, while switching your thinking completely off the rails! \n  \nPresentation 2 – RTSA – Monash Rail Express and their UK Rail Challenge \nPresented by Lachlan Clements (Bogie)\, Chiara Gillam (Integration) and Jemott Mohan (People and Culture). \nThis year a team of Monash University students designed and built a miniature tram “Wallaby” to compete in the Institution of Mechanical Engineers Railway Challenge in the UK. The competition consisted of several challenges\, and each team was scored accordingly on their performance. This is the first time that an Australian team has entered this competition and MREX achieved a very creditable 4th position out of the 14 teams that entered. \nCome and listen to this presentation from the team as they share their experience competing in this exciting competition and their plans for the future. \n
