Awards/Scholarships

Colin Butcher is awarded the 2018 RTSA Individual Award for his life time achievement in providing technical expertise in locomotives, passenger cars and freight wagons, and, his long service as a manager with Clyde Engineering, Comeng, ABB, and ACB consulting services and ongoing contributions including publications. His technical ability included all aspects of vehicle design and performance for most Australian states, and countries in America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East. In Australia, his contributions ranged from heavy haulage to passenger trains including the NSW XPT and Ski Tube, the Queensland tilt trains, and the proposed Very Fast Train.
