Railway Professional (Mid-Career) of the Year Award

The RTSA Railway Professional (Mid-Career) of the Year Award is offered to a person above the age of 35 who has made an outstanding contribution to the Railway Industry in Australia or New Zealand. Nominations now OPEN!

Young Railway Engineer Award

The RTSA Young Railway Engineer Award is offered annually to reward young professional engineers, technologists and associates in Australia or New Zealand who are under 35 years of age.

Graduate Engineer Award

The RTSA Graduate Engineer Award is made to reward railway engineering practitioners in Australia or New Zealand whose working achievements have taken place within four years of the conferral of their university degree.

ARI Infrastructure Project Excellence Award Award

The RTSA is the major sponsor of the ARI Infrastructure Project Excellence Award which is awarded annually at the Australasian Rail Industry Awards. This Award is new for 2023 – more information will be added shortly.

Undergraduate Thesis Award

The Undergraduate Thesis Award is offered annually by the RTSA to the author of an outstanding final year undergraduate thesis on a topic in railway engineering. 

Post Graduate Thesis (PhD) Award

The Post Graduate Thesis (PhD) Award is offered annually by the RTSA to the author of an outstanding doctoral or research masters degree on a topic concerned with the rail industry.

Post Graduate Thesis (Masters) Award

The Post Graduate Thesis (Masters) Award is offered annually by the RTSA to the author of an outstanding research masters degree on a topic concerned with the rail industry.

Life Membership
Award

A Life Member of the RTSA, is the highest honour that can be bestowed upon a member. There are principal benefits included with this award.

Distinguished Rail Career Award(previously Individual Award)

The RTSA Distinguished Rail Career Award is offered biennially to a person who has made an outstanding contribution to the railway industry. Nominations will next open 10th February 2025.

ARI Young Railway Professional Award

The RTSA is the major sponsor of the Young Rail Professional Award which is awarded annually at the Australasian Rail Industry Awards. This Award aims to encourage young individuals to pursue a career in rail whilst acknowledging their efforts.

Order of Australia

The Order of Australia is the principal and most prestigious means of recognising outstanding members of the community at a national level and nominations are encouraged from all members of the Australian public.

Annual Rail Scholarship

This scholarship is open to applications from railway professionals and technicians who can demonstrate an on-going record of work in the rail industry in Australasia and are desirous of attaining a higher qualification.
