Aims of the RTSA

The Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA) is committed to advancing the railway industry across the region by fostering professional development, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge. Through its diverse aims, the RTSA focuses on enhancing technical and management practices, encouraging innovation, and ensuring the continuous growth of its members. The society serves as a platform for railway professionals to connect, share expertise, and contribute to the development of a safer, more efficient railway network across Australasia. We will do this by:

  • Promoting technological and management excellence in the railway industry;
  • Representing the considered opinions of its membership;
  • Stimulating the active contribution and participation of its members in the development and dissemination of railway technology and management knowledge, so to support the business of the railway industry;
  • Providing for the continuing professional development of its members;
  • Strengthening and enhance the competence of its members;
  • Promoting close working relationships amongst participants in the railway industry;
  • Establish linkages at an international level, to enable members to benefit from international exchanges;
  • Promoting education, research, development and information dissemination within the railway industry.
