Dr Frank Heibel is awarded the 2025 Distinguished Rail Career award celebrating his 30 plus years in providing independent expertise in advanced signalling and train control technologies. This award acknowledges Doc Frank’s contribution in the selection, development and improvement of signalling and train control systems in across Australia.

Doc Frank has been at the forefront of providing ongoing education to the Australian rail Industry on CBTC and ETCS signalling topics using an easy-to-understand style and format. This training provided so that even persons without prior signalling knowledge can gain a fundamental knowledge of these complex and safety critical technologies.

Doc Frank is also a regular contributor to railway conferences and journals throughout Australia and internationally.

Doc Frank has provided an exemplary service to the Rail industry and is a well-deserved recipient of the 2025 Distinguished Rail Career Award.
