Life Membership Award 2008

PHILIP LAIRD HAS BEEN AWARDED THE LIFE MEMBERSHIP AWARD IN 2008 FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED SERVICE TO THE RTSA

Philip Laird’s distinguished service to the Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA) has extended for over ten years and includes:

• Philip Laird 1998 – 2000 Inaugural National Chairman RTSA
• 1998 – 2005 Chairman RTSA Government Relations Committee
• 2002 Conference on Railway Engineering (CORE) Wollongong Chair of Technical Committee
• 2002 Member forward vision task force
• 2008 co-ordinating author, booklet, the Railway Technical Society of Australasia The first ten years
• 2000 to 2019, Member, RTSA Awards Committee

Philip the author of many technical articles along with conference papers and was the  coordinating author of the 2008 booklet, The Railway Technical Society of Australasia  The first ten years.
