THE RECIPIENT OF THE 2021 RTSA PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR AWARD IS PHILLIP CAMPBELL OAM.

Phillip Campbell OAM is awarded the RTSA Railway Professional Award for 2021. Phillip has extensive experience in the rail industry in multiple senior executive roles. He is currently the General Manager -Technical Standards (Chief Engineer) at Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC), where he has introduced and implemented new rail operational rules and rail standards across ARTC to reduce maintenance costs and support procurement. Phillip is a Fellow of Institution of Engineers Australia and recipient of Engineers Australia Medal and the Order of Australia Medal (OAM) in the General Division for Services to Engineering.

Phillip has contributed significantly to the railway engineering profession and wider engineering community, through various committee/board positions and voluntary roles within the last 25 years. He was formerly the RTSA National Executive Chair and the President of Engineers Australia (South Australia division) and is the Immediate Past Chair, RTSA South Australia branch committee.

Phillip has demonstrated his contribution to innovation and mentoring of younger engineering professionals, through his engagement with academic and research community. He is currently the Chair of Industry Advisory Committee at School of Mechanical Engineering, Adelaide University, and a member of Board for Australian Centre for Rail Innovation (ACRI).

Phillip has shown continuous growth/promotions, increasing responsibility, impressive work achievements and constant commitment to the railway professional community.
