Overview

The adoption of a digital engineering approach on the Sydney Metro project has resulted in an unprecedented level of collaboration and engagement between the client, designers, and stakeholders.

Sam McWilliam is the Design Manager for the Technical Advisor contract. In this presentation, she will share the approach WSP has taken to coordinate large volumes of design data and explain how design tools are being used to streamline the process of approvals with Transport for NSW – creating a common understanding and vision of design with stakeholders across the board.

Sam McWilliam

Sam McWilliam has over 15 years’ experience throughout Australia and South East Asia in designing and delivering major transport projects, including Sydney Metro City & Southwest and Metro West. Her early experience was focused on tunnelling and underground structures and more recently, her career has expanded to include design lead and management roles on multidisciplinary projects, with a focus on rail, metro and underground station delivery. Sam has recently taken on the role of Rail Executive NSW overseeing WSP’s rail team and business across NSW.
