NSW Event – Gannons Road Bridge Replacement Design in a Complex Rail Environment
The Gannon’s Road railway bridge replacement at Caringbah is a multi-disciplinary project which has involved complex engineering design and construction in a rail environment. The project is an initiative by Transport for NSW to provide extra road lane and shared cycle path improving traffic flow and providing access for pedestrians and cyclists.
The engineered package encompassed structural and geotechnical design, overhead wiring design, and earthing and bonding design. The overall design was an integration of various stakeholder’s requirements and principally the staging of construction requirements to minimize normal train operation disruption.
The project was delivered by Sydney Trains.
