NSW Chapter Event: ARTC Inland Rail โ Geotechnical Initiatives

Overview
Inland Rail is a freight rail project that will connect Melbourne and Brisbane via regional Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland. Spanning over 1,700km, including floodplains, mountain ranges and the southern hemisphereโs longest rail freight tunnel, the geotechnical challenges on the Inland Rail project have called for innovative approaches to meet project and community needs.
This presentation will provide an update on the status of the Inland Rail project, discuss the challenges being faced on the delivery of the project and offer insight into the geotechnical initiatives being applied.

About the speaker
Andrew Doe, Principal Geotechnical Engineer, Inland Rail, ARTC
Engineering Geologist with over 25 yearsโ experience in major civil infrastructure, mining and engineering geology. Andrewโs interests are in geotechnical investigation and design infrastructure projects. Andrew has had the privilege to work on both major and minor commercial and infrastructure projects in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom and Ireland.
