Join the RTSA Queensland Chapter in Brisbane at 5:30-7:30pm on Thursday 28th July for a presentation followed by an informal networking event. Hatch will share their recent experience working on major Infrastructure projects and the challenges faced in the design approval process.

Topics of discussion will be successful engagement with project stakeholders, including asset owners, construction teams, operators, and external parties and how they are key in the delivery of these projects.

Event Speakers

Evan Slattery
Senior Rail Engineer, Hatch

Evan is a Senior Rail Engineer and Design Manager with the Hatch Rail Team in Brisbane. He holds an Associate Degree of Civil Engineering and Diploma of CAD from Southbank Institute of Technology and is currently completing a bachelor’s degree at Queensland University of Technology. His most recent experience on Cross River Rail saw him lead the team as Design Manager for the Tunnels Stations and Developments, Southern Area package through to final Detailed Design. Evan has since transitioned into his current role as Rail Construction Services Lead providing the key interface between the construction and design teams in the highly constrained and complex brownfield rail corridor.

Maricela Riddoch P. Eng. MIEAust CPEng NER
Southern Region Highways Lead, Hatc

Experienced Sessional Lecturer with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. Skilled in Project Management, Land Development, Water Resources, Sewer, Water, utility works and mentoring.

Maricela has a bachelor’s degree focused on Civil Engineering from Lakehead University.

Steve Wilson FIEAust CPEng NER
Major Projects Director, Hatch

Steve is an RPEQ-qualified Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of Engineers Australia with 24 years’ domestic and international experience in the planning and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects. I have led multiple major transport projects in roles both client-side and within D&C delivery teams.
Recently I have held roles as Design Manager for the Cross River Rail CBD station precincts, Design Director for TMR’s Rocky Creek Bridge Replacement, and Senior Technical Manager delivering WestConnex Stage 2 (M8) in Sydney.

George Tilley
Senior Rail Engineer, Hatch

George is an Engineer with more than 12 years’ experience of permanent way design in the rail consulting industry in the UK and Australia. He has worked on a range of projects varying in size, complexity and multidisciplinary integration specialising in track alignment and geometry. Recent project experience includes track alignment lead for Cross River Rail TSD, Inland Rail, City Rail Link and Carmichael Rail.
