Event overview: 

Join RTSA for an exclusive site tour of the Alstom Maidstone Tram Depot, Melbourne’s newest tram depot and stabling facility and a key investment in the future of the city’s renowned tram network. This unique opportunity will provide attendees with a firsthand look at the purpose-built depot that will support the introduction and operation of Melbourne’s new G Class trams. Participants will gain insights into the depot’s design, operational capabilities, facilities, and the role it will play in enhancing Melbourne’s public transport network. Attendees will also learn about the deployment of the new G Class trams, including where they will operate, the benefits they will bring to passengers and operators, and how the project is contributing to a more accessible, reliable and sustainable tram network for Melbourne.

PPE equipment is required. All attendees must wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, and steel-capped boots. Please note that if anyone arrives without steel-capped boots, we will unfortunately be unable to include them in the tour. Alstom will provide high-visibility vests, safety glasses, and bump caps.
