SA Event: Ovingham level crossing removal project

The Railway Technical Society of Australasia (RTSA) South Australia Chapter invites you to join them (in person!) in Adelaide for a presentation by Michael Kipreou on the Ovingham level crossing removal project and a social gathering at 5:45pm to 9:30pm ACDT on the 21st October 2021 at the Fedoras Hilton Hotel.
This presentation will give a project overview of the Australian and South Australian governmentโs $196 million budget towards the removal of the level crossing at Torrens Road, Ovingham with the project being deliver by the PTPA Ovingham Alliance consisting of DIT, McConnell Dowell, Arup and Mott MacDonald.
The presentation will discuss the design of the 4-span steel box girder structure, construction and erection methodologies adopted to minimise disruptions to road, and rail users and interfacing with Gawler Rail Electrification Project.

Michael Kipreou
Engineering Manager, McConnell Dowell
Michael is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) with 10+ years design experience primarily in the bridge and transport sector. Prior to joining McConnell Dowell, he worked as a design consulting engineer. Michael has been involved in several South Australiaโs highly complex and challenging rail projects, including the Goodwood Junction Rail Grade Separation, Torrens to Torrens Outer Harbor Rail Bridge, Oaklands Level Crossing Removal and the Meyer Road Bridge Replacement.
