Distinguished Rail Career Award (previously Individual Award)
THE DISTINGUISHED RAIL CAREER AWARD IS OFFERED BIENNIALLY TO A PERSON WHO HAS MADE AN OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO THE RAILWAY INDUSTRY.
The Distinguished Rail Career Award will next be awarded at CORE2025, nominations will open on Monday 10th February 2025 and close on Sunday 30th March 2025.
Amongst the criteria that will be considered in assessing nominations for this prestigious award are; the overall career achievement of the individual in providing an engineering or technical service to the wider railway community, the nominee’s current career contribution, the degree of autonomy in which the nominee currently operates and the quality and appropriateness of any articles, publications and papers that have been prepared/presented by the nominee.
If an award is made it comprises a unique trophy which will be presented at an important railway conference such as the RTSA Conference on Railway Engineering.
