Vic Chapter Event: HS2: Managing a Design Team of 2000 – Opportunities and Challenges

July 18, 2022 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm ACST

Join the RTSA Vic Chapter for an evening presentation on the UK’s High Speed 2 (HS2) project.

HS2 is Europe’s largest infrastructure project. Over the coming years, a new high-speed line will be designed and built from London to the North-West of England, with HS2 trains then linking through to the biggest cities in Scotland. The scale of the undertaking means that upward of 2000 people are involved in the project day to day, presenting a unique opportunity, as well as a few challenges, to deliver a truly once in a generation transformational outcome.

This presentation will provide an overview of:

  • The High Speed 2 project generally, its purpose and desired outcomes
  • The scale and composition of the team engaged to design and deliver the project
  • The opportunities and challenges
