VIC Event: Conference on Contact Mechanics and Wear of Rail/Wheel Systems (CM 2022)
The 12th International Conference on Contact Mechanics and Wear of Rail/Wheel Systems (CM 2022) will be held online and in person in Melbourne, Australia from 4-7 September 2022 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. The theme of CM 2022 is Advancing the Science and Practice of the Wheel/Rail Interface to Improve Railway Operation Efficiency.
The world’s ever-increasing demands for higher speed, capacity, reliability, efficiency, and safety of railway systems requires better understanding and new discoveries in the science and practice of the relatively tiny contact patch between the wheel and the rail. This conference brings together the latest knowledge, practice and discoveries to achieve an improved understanding of the behaviour and mechanisms of wheel/rail contact and associated phenomena by fundamental scientific research and innovative engineering, operation, and maintenance.
