The Institute of Railway Technology (IRT) at Monash University is a premier track and vehicle railway research centre in Australia. The institute has an established track record in solving railway related technical issues, and its solutions have been adopted by railway systems throughout the world. We have completed more than 500 projects both nationally and internationally.

Senior Engineer (Track)

IRT are currently looking to hire Senior Engineer to deliver a range of complex and highly technical activities related to railway track, underlying structures and their components, and plays a critical role in supporting the achievement of objectives and deployment of resources for the delivery of large research and consulting projects within IRT.

You will be technical representative to the project core team, off-site clients and relevant external clients. You will responsible for utilising your expert knowledge in monitoring and maintenance, inspection and design, developed through applied research and field experience.

As a successful candidate, you will lead, manage and provide technical guidance and analyses pertaining to the railway track, underlying structure, and components including the use of multi-body dynamic simulation (MBDS) tools or similar analytic tool outputs and established industry practice. This role also requires you to travel, conduct field work and work during night shifts.

Senior Engineer (Railway Condition Monitoring)

IRT are currently looking to hire Senior Engineer to deliver a range of complex and highly technical activities related to the development of condition monitoring solutions for both rolling stock and track, and plays a critical role in supporting the achievement of objectives and deployment of resources for the delivery of IRT projects.

You will be technical representative to the project core team, off-site clients and relevant external clients. You will responsible for a full project life cycle involving advanced analytical techniques including dynamic modelling, statistical analysis, data collection and analysis, machine learning, vision and acoustic signal processing related to railway. This role also requires you to travel, conduct field work and work during night shifts.
