Graduate Engineer Award

The RTSA Graduate Engineer Award is made to reward railway engineering practitioners in Australia or New Zealand whose working achievements have taken place within four years of the conferral of their university degree.

Applications for the Award shall; have graduated with an engineering degree from a university in Australia or New Zealand or hold an overseas degree that is recognised, at the time of lodging the award submission, by either Engineers Australia or Engineering New Zealand as being suitable for CPEng.; be able to demonstrate that, in the years since graduation, the applicant has developed knowledge of the practice of railway engineering in the form of either practical or theoretical research work and ideally to have contributed actively towards the objectives of the RTSA.

Other favourably considered criteria are; attainment, or work towards, chartered status of Engineers Australia or Engineering New Zealand; acted as a role model for prospective engineering graduates and preparation/presentation of technical papers, publications and/or articles.

The Award comprises: a cash prize of AU$1,000 (or NZ$ equivalent); complimentary registration at an RTSA CORE Conference including return air fares and hotel accommodation; a commemorative certificate and one year free membership of the RTSA.
